When it comes to Summer, as a crafter and crochet lover, we often end up doing a lot less crochet for many reasons; we're outdoors a lot more, we're busy off on our holidays and although we love to crochet, it can often be something left to Autumn or winter. After-all, cozy-ing up under a thick crochet blanket as we hook away is probably not on the top of our hobby to do list in 40 degree heat!
Yet we miss it right? We have flights to get through, we may have a long drive ahead of us, we may just be bored sat at our friend's garden party. Even in summer, we get those moments where we wished we'd packed our yarn and hooks, just to have something to do! But if we don't want to be making socks or finishing that huge winter blanket we'd started just before Christmas, what kind of projects are the best for those long summer days and hot journeys?
Let's take a look at some great summer crochet project ideas that are easy to pack, keep our hands busy, but our laps cool!

Sea Breeze Crochet Shawl
If you'd prefer a longer, more repetitive project to keep your hands busy this season to help you switch off, then how about my beautiful Easy Summer Crochet Shawl. This is absolutely one of my personal favourite designs, which the yarn definitely sets off. I used KingCole Opium Palette yarn (not sponsored) and the texture allowed this shawl to have a beautiful drape that really flows in the summer breeze. A wonderful light and airy project to enjoy over the summer.
