This pattern is in US terminology.

Terminology Guide
ch = chain
st(s) = stitch(es)
sl st = slip stitch
sc = single crochet (dc in UK terms)
tr = treble crochet (dtr in UK terms)
trtog = treble crochet together
chsp = chain space
* * = repeat between for as long a stated

MC = main yarn colour
SC = secondary yarn colour

tr2tog/tr3tog/tr5tog/tr8tog: when treble crocheting stitches
together, *yarn over twice, go into stitch, yarn over and pull
through, yarn over and pull through 2 loops on hook* repeat
from * to * as many times as stated such as 2, 3, 5 or 8 times,
then yarn over and pull through all loops to finish.

2 and 3 times will be worked into the same stitch, but 5 and 8
times will be divided equally and worked over a set of stitches,
which will be stated in the pattern.
