ch = chain
st(s) = stitch(es)
sl st = slip stitch
sc = single crochet (dc in UK terms)
hdc = half double crochet (htr in UK terms)
dc = double crochet (tr in UK terms)
tr = treble crochet (dtr in UK terms)
* * repeat steps between asterisks for as long as stated

C = cream
Pr = purple (or any ice-cream colour)
W = white
P = pink (you can also use red for the cherry)
